2015 3.0 Premium Plus worth it?
Hello all. I am looking at a 2015 3.0 A6 in the US (Ohio) that is very clean with 37k miles. I have a nagging reliability reservation though, especially since there is no warranty and it is not CPO. I keep my vehicles a while. (Currently driving and '06 BMW 530i with 197k miles). SO, not to ask a sensitive question, but what are the typical or most problematic failures/issues I could expect before $100k miles? Also, is it true the warranty has been extended to 105k miles for the secondary air injection system? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I bought mine (2013) with a tiny amount of warranty left and no CPO. It has been completely trouble free until very recently when an ACC fault popped up which I have my shop about to trace down. I have 67K miles and until this nothing but oil changes and inspections, very reliable.

Yes, the PCV system has been extended to 7 years and 105K I believe. As to other issues that seem to crop up on these forums, the engine mounts seem to become vulnerable around six years and / or 60K and warped brake rotors are often mentioned. Having said that, I got my 2015 A6 3.0t in Jan 2018 and it has been exemplary ever since (knock on wood) and the 3.0t generally has a reputation as a very solid engine, certainly more so than the 2.0tfsi that has been plagued with oil consumption issues. I came from two successive BMW 335i's (2 years each - the latter only because the former was smashed to pieces when some crazy wacko lady ran a red light and hit me like a ton of bricks - walked away with bruises only so many thanks BMW). The Audi equals the pep of those lighter cars but the engine further forward over the front axle means turn in isn't quite as razor sharp - certainly no slouch though and I wouldn't want to swap back as the Audi just feels better finished to me.

I have had a C7 A6 for almost 4 years, the engine and transmission themselves have generally been fantastic. I have however gone through 3 engine mounts, an AC compressor, a supercharger (I hear that one is rare), exhaust flex joints and needed both front/rear shocks by 80k.
I also had a pistons/rings job done due to excessive oil consumption (no effect on performance but putting in a qt every ~800 miles), however that was 90% covered by Audi. If you can, I really would recommend scouting out for a CPO. The prices should be coming down all the time, especially with the new body style available.

secondary air injection system
6 months ago my 2012 Audi A6 with 61,000 miles had code for bank 2 secondary air injection system. Similar code for bank 1 two years previous, but never returned after resetting followed by 6 pulls on dyno. I took my car to Nashville Audi and they found all previous codes in ECU history. Service adviser told me that Audi has extended the warranty on the secondary air injection system faults through 100,000 miles. Cost me zero dollars and free loaner.

2015 Audi A4 bought with 25K miles 1 year ago and put another 23k on them in one year (long work commute). Only thing that popped up so far is the intermediate steering shaft. One day I go to pull out my driveway and the steering wheel is locked up. Felt like power steering but there's no power steering fluid (electronic steering). So I went to the forums and found Seafoams deep creep penetrating lubricant will work after spraying and turning, spraying and turning (look for more details). I'm not car savvy at all but I was able to do this without needing to get under the car and the forums proved true - a $12.99 can of lubricant did what multiple shops were charging $600-$800 for!
