2016 S6 to replace my 2012 A6 3T - what to expect?

So my 2012 A6, purchased with 140K miles, now has 170K miles. It has been a wonderful car to me. The engine and trans feel like they have at least another 100K of life, however, I am starting to get suspension issues related to bushings I believe. Sharp expansion joints bang hard in the front. As I began wondering what my cost to repair would be, I stumbled on a 2016 S6 with 72K miles. I believe I can get it for about $30K from original owner. I would love to hear the collective thoughts and opinions out there, to help me decide what to do and or expect if I did sell and but the S6.

Thanks

Good question. I can tell you one thing that you should not expect, and that is to have CarPlay installed, as Audi added it only a year later in 2017. However, as you may or may not be aware, there is actually a work around for that which only works for the 2016 vehicles.

Good to know and thanks for the reply.

Did Audi every install remote start in 2016? When did they start?

No OE remote start available for the C7.5 or the C7 from what I understand. And to clarify, if you’re interested in CarPlay for a 16’, it’s not provided by Audi, but by a third party. Do a search if further interested, or PM me if you end up buying the car and I’ll direct you. Is that the blue book for that car (S6) with those miles?? Also, I believe you may be facing some pretty expensive maintenance for an S6 at around 75k miles which probably exceeds the price of your suspension work on your A6, but someone here should know more.

Weren't there some issues with the S6 in early years of this platform in connection with turbos and oil screens or something like that? If I recall correctly those issues could result in some hefty repair bills. Worth checking into -- its on the S6 board.

Best,
Jeff

Activated by the dealer? I know this is being offered in some countries by the dealer, but I don’t believe by any in the U.S. Not sure where the O.P. is located.

No,a company called vag Pro in Leicester, plugged in a laptop and his partner in London updated the mmi firmware and activated the smart phone interface and also updated the maps to the latest ones.

Regarding the S6 vs A6 again.

what about ride? The S6 has the air ride suspension. Does that improve handling, ride comfort, both?
