I have a 2016 A7 (had a 2015 before this). A few weeks ago when I started having the screen below come up when I press the voice command button on the steering wheel. It had worked fine the first month or so, and on my 2015. It is paired to my iPhone 5.
I somehow got the normal menu screen to come up once, then it reverted to this screen again. I've checked all settings on both the car and screen and see nothing that makes sense to cause this. I've tried turning off the phone and back on, and I've unpaired the phone from the phone and re paired it. So far it's still doing the same thing. It acts like its hung up in the middle of a command, but I have no idea what or why.
I just went out to the car and tried everything I could think of. When I deleted the device and added it again, and played with some settings, the normal voice command screen came up....once. After that the screen shown above kept coming up. And by me sitting there in the garage with the phone in my hand I can see what is happening. It is bringing up the iPhone voice commands, not the Audi voice commands. That is NOT what I want, but I don't know what to do.
I will try to call the dealer and speak with their technology guru, but I'm extremely busy at work and not sure when I'll be able to.
Well, by googling the problem I discovered the answer. If you hold the button down for three seconds or more it takes you to an external voice command - in my case, the iPhone. A quick push of less than three seconds takes you to,the MMI voice commands. I have been holding it down longer because I recall a few weeks ago it seemed to be slow to respond.
But here is the kicker. I actually looked in my manual the other day and I just checked again. My manual does not tell you this!
New for the MY2016 C7 MMI you get Siri control activated with and through the MMI Voice Control button. I can also get Siri to work through the MMI on my MY2013 but I have to activate it from the iPhone.
When I had the 5k mile service for my 2016 model, they updated the software. Before the update I could hold down the talk button from the wheel for a few seconds and Siri will as for a command. After the update the system seemed to have changed. I only new to press the button once. Then it prompts me for a command, then it asks me to select the line or person I want to call and finally a do you want to continue (yes or no). The update is terrible!
Are you having this problem?

I'm not sure if it's the same issue or not, but I will say it is very confusing when you don't know what you did to get to that menu, and you don't realize you are in the phones voice commands and not the cars voice command. And all this while you are trying to be a good boy and use voice commands to make a call while driving down the road.
