Just had the windshield replaced on my 2014 TDI, and now the wipers will only sweep about halfway across the windshield before returning to resting position. Is there something I can adjust, or is it a trip back to the dealer to undo whatever they did to cause this?

I had the opposite problem after a windshield replacement - my wipers were going too far and bumping against the weather stripping on the driver's side. It shouldn't be a difficult fix - pop the cover off over the bolt on each wiper, loosen the bolt, position the wiper on the dot on the windshield, then re-tighten the bolt.

Is it possible they over-tightened it?

Do the wiper arms have to be removed to replace the windshield?

Yes. I watched the guy remove the wiper arms - it looked like a pretty easy job.
