New member to the forum looking for some input on custom setups. I'd like to create a deeper louder tone throughout rpm band, but have fear of doing a custom setup and getting a "ricer v6" note. I like the sound of the resonator and muffler delete (straight pipe).. just have a feeling would be too loud and drone. Im thinking remove both back mufflers and straight pipe, then remove "suitcase" resonator and replace with a big dual in dual out borla pro xs. Would appreciate any input on a setup like this or similar, thanks. -JL

2012 A6 3.0 here. Almost three years now, I installed AWE Touring Exhaust with black diamond tips. Also, installed AWE resonated down pipes. I did much research as I wanted increased exhaust evacuation, a bit more aggressive tone and zero drone.
The sound is amazing and not 'ricer' at all.... in fact, sounds like a race car when you are getting on it. Drive mellow and hard to tell exhaust upgrade over OEM, but get on it and it is uniquely sick. One draw back... kit is expensive but, easy to install and amazing quality build.
