Default A6 Price Paid

Hello all!

Hope everybody is doing well. I am in the market for a new A6 3.0. Open to 2012/13, color, package.

This is probably going to be the most expensive purchase I have ever made (apart from college). Can people here share their prices quoted/paid on a A6, so that I can get comfort that my hard word is not being taken advantage off. Thanks in advance.

This is what I got quoted and I am eligible for AudiSupplier discount through my employer (guess its 6% off on top of this?)

2013 A6 Auto FWD 2.0 Premium $42,200.00
2013 A6 Auto Quattro 2.0 Premium $44,400.00

2013 A6 Auto Quattro 3.0 Premium $50,400.00
2013 A6 Auto Quattro 3.0 Premium Plus $54,700.00
2013 A6 Auto Quattro 3.0 Prestige $56,950.00

2013 S6 Auto Quattro 4.0 Prestige $71,900.00

The 6% will not be on top of a discounted price. You're probably not going to do a whole lot better than the 6% supplier discount on a 2013 model. FYI, the dealer is reimbursed 2% of the discount by Audi, so in effect, you are getting 4% off, which is giving the dealer a 3% above invoice. You might be able to squeeze another $$400 or so off, depending on the dealer.

The prices above are simply MSRP without destination charge....they are not discounted. So you'd take 6% suplier discount off theses numbers, add $895 destination charge, plus dealer doc fees, reg. costs and taxes to get your OTD cost.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like there is not much room on a 2013 Audi to negotiate.

Anybody knows if dealers are offering better deals on the 2012 models?

thanks

If you could find one to your liking at this point, most definitely. Probably below cost by 5% or so as a guess. Dealers want to move them out. Challenge is, there's not too many to choose from now and you will likely have to compromise on color, options, etc.

Got it. Has anybody also had success on negotiating on top of the supplier discount (6%) and loyalty program? Or that is just futile?

thanks

I tried 4 dealers in the Boston/Providence area with no success on better than the 6%. I went back to my previous dealer I bought my last Audi from and was at least able to do $1500 better on my trade than the others. Keep in mind that I got the very first 2013 A6 from his initial allocation - they even put me ahead of other orders as they had one extra dealer allocation so that added to the value for me. Timing is a factor - it's always going to be tougher to get big discounts on new model year cars than end of the model year.

6% discount on a 2013 A6 that has a 7% profit margin at sticker isn't too bad right now. (Note that freight is not discounted in the supplier program). Also be prepared for some kind of dealer fee for registration plus prep or whatever they may call it. You can try to negotiate that down. Try to get some winter mats ($150 cost) thrown in. If you are considering Audi Care ($850 right now I believe), don't expect much of a discount if any - the dealer margin is brutally low. Finally, if you own an iPhone, get them to exchange the included blue grommet AMI cable for the red one ($75 value). You'll need that if you have a 3Gs, 4 or 4s to see album art or video on the MMI (jury is out on the iPhone 5 right now).

I've been internet shopping for a few weeks and the best deal I got for a 2012 A6 was $5000 off MSRP plus any incentives you qual for. That was at Audi North Scotsdale. Hell - they're even advertising $4000 off MSRP on the website and I was offered an additional $1000 off by the internet sales manager. You can use this as a bargaining chip with other dealers. The 2012s are picked through so you'll have to compromise on colors and options. I'm in Ohio and I was willing to buy within 500 miles so Phoenix was a bit too far for me.
