A6 or S4 CPO?
Hi all,
My wife's MB C300 lease is coming up early next year and I am searching the next car for her. She is not the kind to do the research so I am doing it for her. In the past she has driven sedans and that's what she is comfortable with. She has had the 3 series and now the c300 and I looking to get an Audi for her, but don't know which one to get as we have never had audi's before.
I thought the A4 which is the 3 series equivalent right? and then started looking at the S4, is the s4 the bmw M or MB AMG equivalent?
We both also agree that we like the A6 size and looks, We want to be in the $30,000 - $35,000 range for a CPO. Is this doable for a 2014 model?
If any of these lease better like BMW's we may consider that too.
A bigger car will help with the family being able to use more space in the back.
What about extended warranties? which of these would be the best bang for the buck for a CPO, also which engine 2.0 vs. 3.0?
what do you guys suggest?

I would recommend the following,
Both of you take a long test drive in both vehicles. If possible try both engines, although I think you'll prefer the V6.
CPO: When the Audi New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage expires, the Audi Certified pre-owned Limited Warranty becomes effective and provides coverage for a period of two years or up to 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, not to exceed 100,000 total vehicle miles.
Deductible on cpo is $85.
I got our '13 Prestige A6 for 32k with 54k miles.
Also read up on the forums for both vehicles with regards to how each one behaves in owners hands. I know that the A6's when babied tend to build up carbon on the valves, thus requiring the supercharger to be pulled for cleaning.
I drive mine like I stole it.

Lol. Audi has been spamming me to trade my 2013 A6 with 52K miles for around 22K, which is ludicrous, as it is still like new to me, but I think it means their profit margin is a good 10k, a lot to pay for CPO.
When I get an A4 loaner, I like how zippy it is, but just too small for family or long trips IMO. Plus the long sleek A6 just looks, well, long and swoopy!

Me too and when I click on their link to check what they would give me for the car it brings me to the Kelley Blue Book web site. The E-mail makes it sound like they're willing to pay top dollar. Freaking hilarious!!!!

so how do these lease, does the A6 lease better than the A4?
I am going to do a test drive on both of these and now thinking instead of the S4, I will consider the A4. So between the A4 and A6 which would you choose CPO.

i think it will come to the size of the car. big vs small.
besides that it will be the dated interior from the S4 (which is about 10 years old now) vs the A6's new interface
for me, the A6 wins

The price point you are looking for is doable...
CPO Audi Cars for Sale | Audi Dealership | Near Andover, MA
The 3.0 is a great engine, lots of torque and very smooth. Most would be happier with it over the 2.0.

I just traded my '12 S4 for a '14 A6 3.0T Prestige. I loved my S4 but with a little one now, it was getting tight on space when the car seat was in and having a passenger or two. The B8 is small to begin with but with the big S4 front seats it made the rear leg room tight.
With the sport package, the A6 handles pretty well. Yeah it's a little larger but can't beat the combination of the luxury, interior space and sportiness (compared to non-sport models). It doesn't feel big though when you drive it. You can just cruise around or be aggressive. Kind of funny, in the S4 I always felt the need to drive aggressively but in the A6 it's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
