ACC and Audi Braking Guard: Unavailable
My car is under the original warranty and when driving down the road yesterday evening I got the message "ACC and Audi Braking Guard: Unavailable" in the dash display. It persisted that evening and this morning as conditions already known to the car at startup.
I've looked up this topic and have seen that others have had issues with this, but when they have had them, either there was some sort of impact or a component was replaced. In my case there were none of these issues, and I don't yet have code info.
I'm going to take it to the dealer, but I was shocked when I was told that if alignment needs to be re-done, that wouldn't be included by warranty. Does that sound right? Without an impact and under normal use, there shouldn't be a need for re-alignment.
Have others had this issue occur seemingly at random, and how has it been handled in that case? Thanks!

I had just washed my car before it rained and then it went off, so I don't imagine that was an issue.
What did they do to resolve it (well, maybe they didn't), and what did any non-warranty charge cost? Thanks!

It was covered under the factory warranty. Then again, it wasn't fixed.

That's good to hear. Did they have to do an "alignment" of the system as part of this? I'm not keen on the idea of a warranty system needing alignment through no fault of my own and having to pay the dealer for that service as they threaten might be needed.

Below are the codes that fired off, which suggests that for some reason an alignment is needed.
Nothing happened to my fully in original warranty car, but I think Audi is going to ask me to pay for alignment. That just seems ridiculous! Has anyone gotten Audi to pay for alignment of these sensors when nothing strange happened to them, or can I do them myself?

I had this 3 times. The first two were because I fixed some scratches on the bumper. The 3rd one is when a stone or another object hit one of the sensor.
Apparently every time when you remove the front bumper or a sensor get out of alignment you need to calibrate the system again. This involves putting the car on a stand and adjusting suspensions and sensors.
This can be done only at Audi and cost $510. I did look if other auto shops have that machine, but nobody in Chicago can do that.

Wow, $510. I can't believe that this should be something that I have to pay for when I'm under OEM warranty when there was no event that happened to my car. Did you have to pay for that under warranty and did you have to pay all 3x?
