I've had my 2016 A6 Premium Plus since December and today (for the first time) the MMI/Navigation voice would interrupt music with verbal warnings with info on road construction at various locations. I did not have a destination entered just nav or music on the MMI display and it happened 3 or 4 times today. I've not changed any settings and have not heard this before and it was pretty annoying, especially since it was dozens of miles a way from where I was.

Has anybody else seen (heard) this?

Yes, mine's gone crazy too. Incredibly annoying. There's a poster on the S6 forum that's reported the same thing. Minutes of spoken traffic warnings that you can't turn off. I hope they fix it soon.

Thanks for the confirmation. I went through multiple settings for nav/voice/traffic and did not see anything different.

Me neither. My guess is they're mistakenly categorizing all traffic notices that would otherwise only show on your route traffic list as emergency warnings that must be read out loud immediately.

Yeah I'm getting the same thing since yesterday morning. It just pops up as soon as the MMI initializes and she just starts rambling. My alerts also include objects on road as well as the narrow lanes and construction and anything else she feels like telling me. Although mine only does it as soon as I start the car. Once I dismiss them, I don't see them again until I restart the car. And you're right, the alerts were for streets miles away and no where near my work/home route.

I too am getting these traffic warnings over the last two days. I commute between central and northern NJ daily and I am not concerned with nor am I interested in verbal announcements for traffic issues at the NJ shore or in Long Island or CT.

Maybe NJ Governor Christie has something to do with it? "time for some traffic problems in...."

I called AoA this morning about something else, and their automated menu says something like "if you're calling about the nav road construction issue, we're aware of it and the issue is being examined." My car has been doing it the past couple days.

+1 So far only once yesterday briefly. I blamed it on St. Patrick's day.
