Audi Care
I bought my A6 back in December and also purchased Audi Care. I recall vividly the guy selling me on all scheduled maintenance being covered through up to 45,000 miles. I finally received the contract today and it says it only covers the following:
15,000
25,000
35,000
45,000
So it gives me nothing for the initial 5K service which I think sucks for what I paid. I foolishly paid $820. Is this care package a good value?

3.0T
- 4 oil and filter changes
- 2 cabin air filter
- brake fluid change every 2 years
- not really worth it
2.0T in addition:
- spark plug change at 35k
- CVT ATF change at 35k
- still the same price $820 so might be okay value if you have the 2.0T and/or CVT

There have been enough posts on Audi Care in the AW forums over the years to make it to the moon and back. There are as many proponents as detractors and opinions out the kazoo.
So, just for the helluvit, I'll repeat my own analysis that I've posted many a time before. (Based on my own experience - your mileage may vary...)
- The dealer will charge about 35% more than Audi Care if you have them do the four scheduled maintenances over time.
- An independent shop will charge about 35% less than the dealer for the same maintenance or roughly the same as the cost of Audi Care. (This assumes the Indy follows all the maintenance items as per the service guide).
- If you are a DIY kinda person, it will be significantly less than an Indy or AC as about 75% of the maintenance cost is labor.
So, if you're not a DIYourselfer, it kind of comes down to whether you want to pay upfront and have the dealer take care of it or pay as you go over time with an Indy.
I purchased AC on my last Audi A4 and will buy it again just before my 15k mile service on my A6. Why? Because I'm definitely NOT a DIY person and I want the convenience of maintenance and any needed warranty work done in one place. Another side benefit, there's no chance for finger pointing if something should go wrong at the Indy shop.
Bottom line, unless you do your own maintenance, it will always cost an arm and a leg to service an Audi (or any other luxury brand for that matter). You can't drive through that service door without hearing a Las Vegas slot machine ka-ching. So pay them now or pay them later but you will pay one way or the other. Audi Care just make it more convenient for many of us non DIYs.

Another vote for Audi Care
I do not do my own maintenance, so I agree that AudiCare is worth it. Today I went to Consumers Report web site to use their new RepairPal maintenance & repair estimator, which estimates cost based on car, model, year, etc and zip code of owner. For the routine Audi 15k,25K,35K & 45K it estimated from $830.00 to $1450.00 at today's prices. So $830.00 locked in is well worth it to me. Also lets a trained service department see the car periodically. Their estimator also lists many major component testing and replacement costs. Quite helpful, but you have to be a member of CR on line, and their "Cars Best Deals Plus" program, which cost me an extra $14.00. It also allowed me to get a c very competitive price on my just ordered 2013 A6. Since the dealer insisted on a high paperwork fee, I had him sell me the car below invoice, so he could include the prep fee, so I could end up paying invoice after the paperwork fee! I have been a CR member for over 30-40 years.

my dealer charges super rip off prices for service so for me, it would represent an almost 50% savings over what I would be charged. I'll snag it before I hit 15K miles.
