I have a 2017 A6 Avant Black Edition and on the main menu under MMI set up the Audi smartphone interface option is greyed out.


When I plug in my iPhone 7 into the USB port nothing happens and I'm unable to get Apple Car Play to work.

Any ideas?

It's a UK 2017 Audi A6 2.0TDI Avant Black Edition with Tech Pack and Audi Connect.

Audi Smartphone Interface (UI2) which gives you Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is an option on 2017 UK A6s (and 2015/16 as well) so as it is greyed out on the display I presume you dod not order it. For 2017 Audi have pre-installed the software so all that should needt to happen is that you pay the dealer money and in return he unlocks it. Unfortunately (AFAIK) it is not something that can be simply unlocked using VCDS
