If this is your first real issue after 170k miles and assuming it affects only one module caused by an act of God, in the bigger scheme of things you are very lucky. It gives C7 owners some comfort on long term reliability.

It is the first real issue. I also know of at least 2 other C7's with higher mileage. One is already at 190k and the other is a guy in Alabama with about 260k on the clock. So there is certainly hope.
I didn't get a chance to mess with the module today. Working 3rd shift an waking up at 3pm with a splitting headache kinda kept me down today. Hopefully I can get to it tomorrow after doing a new serp belt on my truck and some maint on my wifes motorcycle.

I have only 46k miles in 4.5y. My hunch is with passage of time some parts will eventually break down and this car may never see 150k miles. Would be interesting to see how others fare at high mileage but that is another topic.

I plan on getting at least 250K out of this one. Hopefully, that pans out
The EA888 platform is known to be capable of very high mileage returns.

So an update to this. I was able to get some information and the module is located in the right rear quarter panel in the trunk. So I pulled the panel today and the first thing I found was that the panel was a bit damp. Since we had just had a visit from the reminents of hurricane Irma the day before this started, I figured the rain and wind found a week spot in my trunk seal.
You might want to open the trunk, remove the covers and leave the car sit out in the sun to dry it out.

Geez Tenspeed, kind of a morbid pic to show when I'm talking about electrical issues, lol.
I did let the area dry out. I removed the side panel and left the trunk open. No change. I also haven't had time to play around much either. Hoping I can get up this afternoon and check some more fuses back there. The more I thought about it the more I doubt the module got moisture in it, but I could see it happening to the fuse blocks as they were right below the damp panel.
Wish I had a wiring diagram so I could test the pin connections going to the module so I could make sure the right ones are supplying power. The good thing is, nothing else as been affected after a week, so I'm fine with that. Of all the things that could have gone, this is the least impacting.
