Busted light warning
#12
there's another thread ("cold temperature issues") discussing this and some other issues.
Short story, AofA confirmed a bad batch of tail lights that throws codes in temps below 30F. Dealer finally replaced my rear tail lights. TSB hasn't been issued yet.

same problem
My 2014 tdi has been in for servicing twice for same warning message Car is there right now for this and FOB issue (getting a replacement FOB). Advisor says that AOA is aware but no fix so nothing will be done. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well, car was in for servicing for a full week early January and was told that the service dept could not duplicate the "Left turn/signal brake light/real light warning" message. The same message (as well as for the right side) has appeared each the morning over the past week (temp 31deg and below). Car going back to service next week. Anyone have any updates on fixing this? It is really annoying to spend 60g plus for a car and have something as simple as a warning light not getting fixed.

Reviving this topic as I am experiencing the same thing. All rear lights function as they should but am still getting this message. 2014 TDI. I saw another post that they had to replace the inner light assembly. Anyone else resolve without replacing this?

I think I found a workaround to seeing this message. When I start the car, I only hold the brake pedal down for a second while pressing the start button then release. If I hold the pedal down while the engine turns over in the cold, the message will return. I'm on day 3 error free in below freezing temps. I have a TDI so the glow plugs take a second or two to warm up before the engine turns over.

Same issue with 2012 A6
Just started having the same issue, left side rear turn signal brake light warning, all lights work fine. I have a 2012 A6 (C7) so fortunately it has taken 10 years for this issue to show up. I am not East coast, rather Northwest where temps don't get down below freezing that often though it is winter right now. Warning light has been intermittent for 2-3 weeks but been on for two days straight now. Interestingly, the internal turn signal flasher audibly ticks at double time (common indicator of bad bulb in older vehicles) but actual external turn signal lights (front and back) work at normal rate. I thought from past experience the flasher ticking sound was the actual flasher controlling the bulbs but apparently not the case with the Audi as the two do not match.
