Buying a 2014 A6 3.0 TDI post-fix. Change my mind
hello AW,
I’ve been lurking for a few weeks while out car shopping... have a deposit on a 2014 A6 Tdi that is going through “the fix”. I drove it pre-fix and loved it.
The car is a 2 owner car - second was cpo - all services done at selling Audi dealer including new tires and brakes within 10k miles.
Car has 83k mikes now.
I’m paying $19.4k plus tax/fees.
Great buy or Greatest Buy?

It is a fair price. Who is getting the fix money? You should drive it post fix and see if you still like the car. The post fix reviews are mixed at best. As part of the settlement, Audi issues what is essentially a new drive train warranty when they do the fix. Based on the mileage you have the cars drivetrain will be covered until approx 130k miles

Agree. Would be interested in what changes you note, if any. Most of the complaints have been changes in transmission shifting patterns and decreased MPG. The only serious complaint I have seen can be found in the Q5 forum, where DrCap described a lack of throttle response and/or stuttering, which would be dangerous and does not fall under the potential changes to be expected per the deal. If you note nothing bad, it sounds like a very good deal.
