Clunk while shifting down, help!
So coming to you guys for help...felt like I've tried everything, its doing my head in!
I have 2014 A6 2.0, 126,000 miles...love the car!
the problem...I get a good sized mechanical clunk from the underside of the car when slowing down, mainly when the car changes down from 3-2 but also when coming to a stop...so 2-1. shifts up perfectly no issues there, strangely, I can get it to clunk at around 10mph when I get sharply on and off the the throttle while in manual mode which made me think it wasn't the trans? its not shifting and still get the clunk, could be wrong
its hard to pin down, sometime it sound like its from the back and other times from the trans...its defo drivetrain...I think

so here's what I've done,
- New motor mounts
- new trans mount
- installed the JHM center support bearing brace, I had quite a bit of play in mine, this sorted it out and no extra noise in the cabin...did it without removing the exhausted...its decent
- diff mounts all looked good...but installed inserts...made no different to the clunk and increased the noise in the car on the highway so I took them out.
- trans fluid was replaced with new filter, used the correct ZF stuff...filling procedure etc
- ran trans adaptation at least 3 times...right after fluid change....I drove it like a granny thinking about the "learning period" but no change.
- checked all suspension arms and shocks
- all CV joints checked
- checked exhaust
I get no codes for the trans, it seems happy,
hoping one of you can point me in the right direction for anything else to look at...
or I'm thinking its the trans, but its a decent clunk can't imagine I wouldn't get a code from me, worn clutches?
Thanks in advance!
