Do people in Germany wear sunglasses?

I love my A6 but the one thing I'm surprised that’s it’s missing is a place for your sunglasses, or am I missing something?

If you live in Germany then you may be able to answer better than people who don’t live there.
If, however, you live some place else then you would probably post your location under your logon name, wouldn’t you?

Why does my location matter? I’m only asking if there is a place to store sunglasses that I might be missing. The question in the subject line is rhetorical.

As far as I know, it's a trim level situation, at least in the US market. The Prestige trim has a sunglasses holder up by the sunroof controls. My RS5 has it in the same place and so does my AMG C63S coupe. Yes, Germans do wear sunglasses and they do put holders in some of their models. It's all an option and cost saving strategy to leave out stuff on lower trim models. I guess AoA doesn't think P+ and lower buyers wear sunglasses ;). There are also lots of complaints about the sunglasses holder being too small for most sunglasses, damned if you do or don't, I suppose.

Thanks for the response superswiss. I guess I’ll have to get creative to find a safe spot to stash them.

I actually work for a Swiss owned company and travel there on occasion. There are many German people working for the company also. My European colleges are teasing me for finally switching from my Ford F150s to fine German engineering!

It matters because, as superswiss stated, options are different around the world so getting input for your location may help you get real answers.

Yes, but they don't take them off

My 2018 A6 premium plus (USA) has a sunglass holder up top next to the garage remote control panel... But if yours is missing it, you aren't missing out on too much. It's pretty small and barely fits sunglasses without scratching them!

I'm curious as to what your top panel looks like though without the holder... Can you post a pic?

It didn't occur to me that it could be trim or option related. The car is a 2016 A6 Premium Plus SLine. I'm guessing the depression towards the front might be where the compartment would be if so equipped?

The sunglass holder up top next to the garage remote control panel is too small to hold any sungleasses I own. I have been using the storage area located in front of the shift lever below the climate controls for my sunglasses and it works very well!
