Do your fold-out mirrors unfold at the same rate?
My 2015 Prestige passenger mirror is way faster than my driver's side mirror, which also sometimes makes a rubbing noise as it unfolds. Plan on asking about it at the 5K service here shortly, but wondered what other people experience.

On my 2012 A6 Avant (UK model), the driver's side is slower than the passenger side. Seems that many people ask the same question and have one mirror faster than the other, so I would say it is normal.
No noise on mine though.

Audi undoubtedly uses a third part supplier for the motors and various batches probably had variances. If Audi observed the disparities, they probably felt that since there was no functional difference, they let it pass rather than hold up production. As good a guess as any I suppose.

Passenger side is also slightly faster on mine.
Already had an electrical failure on that side (wouldn't fold, fixed under warranty) and while I was at the dealer by chance another customer was complaining about the same thing.
I've pretty much accepted that either one of them is going to be the first mechanical failure the moment the warranty runs out (And I even disable the auto folding function in winter).
