I've been playing with various sequences to see if I could find one that causes the wheel to not come down. What I've found is if I turn off the car and stay seated then turn it back on with no foot on the brake or engine fired then exit the car, the wheel will not return to the memory position when I reenter and start the car. Still need to play with it some more to see if I'm right.

Well, my theory of holding the start button for a bit longer produces mixed results. Oh well. Will bring it up with dealer when I am in for my 5k oil change which will be a few months still.

This worked for me the first day I got it, and now it's not moving at all.

I'm going to take some of the information here and apply it and see if it works (specifically the locking/unloacking the configurations)

Only had 1 FOB in the car, and that's mine as the wife has yet to want to drive it.

Okay.. after 30 min of playing around with this.. I think I figured it out for me anyway.

I guess I sit higher and have the steering wheel already set for maximum hight. So naturally, if it's trying to raise the steering wheel higher for me to get in/out, it's got no where to go. So I repositioned my seats, saved the settings. Repositioned the steering wheel, saved the settings. LOCKED the settings.

Got out of the car, locked it. Unlocked it, got in and started (it only activates when you start the car) 100% of the time the steering wheel raised and lowered for me for about 20 tries.

Now the question... is it supposed to do the seats too, or am I wishing to much??

I am 99% sure it is only the steering wheel that moves, not the seats. Seats do move for other models however (A8 and I believe the A7 but don't quote me on that).

BTW, I am still having the same inconsistent functioning. In fact, on some occasions, the MMI display doesn't open up either, though that is less frequent than the steerring wheel issue.

My guess is that the car simply has too many computer-controlled things happening when you start the car that it sometimes misses. It may be due to selecting certain settings in the MMI on seat memory - honestly, the procedure for setting/storing/locking these settings is very confusing to me.

In the C7, the seats do not move at all when entering or exiting the car to except to accommodate a specific driver if there was a preset driver change.

Default Easy entry feature

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks!
I have a 2016 S6, and i have the same issue, and taken it to dealers 3 times and they didn't believe me and now have a video of it so lets see if they can figure it out.
What i have noticed is that it happens after the car has been off for some time, like when i park it at work and come back later on that day or parked overnight in garage.
Anybody find any help?
