Been researching on these forums and have found a lot of useful information. My wife and I are planning to buy our very first Audi, a 2014 A6 3.0T P+. We are quite excited.

However we would like to purchase an extended warranty on the car since it is already 4 years old, and I read that a 7yr/100,000 really just adds 3 more years to when the car warranty expires. In the case of the car I am looking at it has 30,000 miles on it and factory warranty has 9 months to go.

I want to keep the car for at least 6 more years (90,000 miles) but once we are out of the factory warranty + the 7yr extended, are there any options to extend that further? Thank you!

Audi doesn't do factory extended warranties, with the exception of 2 additional years on CPO cars. . The 7 year/70,000 mile warranty you are talking about is probably the Fidelity warranty sold through Audi dealers. It will extend the original warranty by 3 years, for 7 years total.
Is the car a CPO car from an Audi dealer? Check with the dealer for options, but I believe 7 years is the max you can get, unless you look for some third party warranties which may or may not do the job when youneed them.

Diogenes is correct. If you want to buy a Fidelity aftermarket warranty, you can do a search on the forums, there is a guy who sells these out of a dealership in the Eastern U.S. He will sell a 5 year or 60,000 mile warranty on an Audi that has less than 45,000 miles on it. So, if you buy it at 40K, you would have coverage till 100K or 5 more years whatever comes first.
The policies are not cheap and are based on the car, the deductible you choose and the level of coverage. You would be looking at somewhere between $3 - $4K. Most Audi dealerships are familiar with Fidelity and accept them for covered repairs.
Others will tell you to bank the $3K and use it if you ever need a major repair. The P+ cars do not have a lot of the super expensive gadgetry that some models do, so maybe a less expensive policy might work that covers just the drivetrain, etc.
I thought CPO cars came with a 100K warranty, but I could be mistaken.

A CPO can only be offered by an Audi dealer on a car purchased from them. It adds 2 years to the OEM warranty or 100K miles whichever comes first and will have a $85 deductible per visit. It will cover most things that the original warranty covers but not all (i.e. nav and sound systems). The dealer pays Audi about $2500 for the CPO which will be reflected in the sales price.

Thank you everyone for your advice and information. So fidelity does offer a 10 year/120,000 miles warranty for the Audi. And the CPO adds two years into the factory warranty and 50,000 bumper to bumper. The 100,000 is on the power train. The 10 year warranty cost depends on the car year and mileage.

As noted earlier, CPO is NOT bumper to bumper. All extended warranties will have exclusions.
