Tires on a new 2011 A6 3.0?
I recently bought this car and wondered if I had the original tires. They seem fairly new, but the car has 36,000 miles. Continentals.

Could definitely be the original tires. My 2010 had Conti Pro Contacts which I replaced @ 38k miles (w/ Conti DSW's). I probably could've gotten a few thousand more miles out of them, but we were heading into winter time and wanted some good treads.

Tires have date codes which should give you an indication if the tires are original.
From TR's website. The last 4 digits of the DOT number is the date code.
DOT U2LL LMLR 5107
51 Manufactured during the 51st week of the year
07 Manufactured during 2007

Can you be more specific about why you are asking? Concern for age, tread depth or proper fitment or are they noisy? Looking for replacement?
If you are concerned about them, you can check the tread depth with a penny or the wear bars. If concerned about age, rest assured a 2011 build car you are safe, but can check the date codes as well.
Continental ContiProContact I'm assuming since that is the only continental brand tire fitted to this car as OE, by 30k you would see some notable wear most likely.

Thanks for the info, guys. They are obviously the original, manufactured in 2010 according to the DOT stamp (thanks for the tip on where to find the date)
I asked because I was curious about tire life. Checking the wear bars, it looks like I might have another 4-8K left on them.

No, they are great tires. I bought them to go on my current A6 with 19's and I am trading this car for a new TDI with 20's so I don't need them anymore.
