Problem or feature: when I raise up my center console storage lid, it's often hard to get back down. I typically have to raise it all the way to unlock it, then it'll go back down to the bottom. It doesn't seem like there's a way to open it halfway, and let it close naturally.

Feature. That is how mine works. Although I swear sometimes it falls down just a little on me. What I do wish is that it would slide out like the Q5 does. I miss that on other cars I had in the past

Yes it is a feature but as you have probably found out in reality it can be a problem at times. So you got two things for the price of one!

Thanks -- I've always figured it was done that way on purpose, but sometimes it takes me multiple shots to get it back down. More often a PITA than a nice thing that it stays open on it's own (for me).

I've gotten used to mine. I just raise it up all the way and then it can be dropped down to the lowest position. Then I raise it back up to where it's comfortable. Sounds more complicated than it is - takes me all of 2 1/2 seconds. And yes, sometime it mysteiously will be lower than where I left it the day before. How that can happen with the gear latch mechanism, i have no idea whatsoever.
