Google Earth overlay stopped working
 

Hi,

Over the weekend, the Google Earth overlay stopped working in my 2016 A6. The data connection is working (status showed enabled and "very good"). The MMI shows LTE with 4 bars. I left the maps on Standard view for a day and retried setting it to Google Earth with no luck. Down in the bottom right corner of the MMI, it only makes it to "Goog".

Other Audi Connect Services appear to work ok...again confirming that the data connection is OK.

Any other ideas on what to check? Did I miss a discontinuation of service announcement?

Audi announced stopping of Google Earth services from December 2020...There won't be any more Google Earth service.

Ah, that would explain it. Thanks much for the info.

I'll miss the eye candy.

Maybe it is time to enable Apple Carplay.......

But now they have re-enabled it!

I can confirm what @tambrose said. I checked mine this afternoon and google maps are back. I don't know if this was just a cached image as I just checked in my driveway, but before I would time out and reboot and tell me only "Standard" view was available.

I'm heading on a road trip up the Maine coast tomorrow. I'll let you know if it's working out of area for me.

So far so good. Working everywhere apparently. For now.

i activate it with a guy in europe who modify the adress of the mmi to find the google earth server
