Just received this email from Google. I haven't tried it yet but presumably it restores the Send To Car feature into the new online Google Maps.

Based on the feedback you submitted, we've been hard at work making the Maps experience even better.

Send a location to your car
Now you can send a location in Google Maps to your car’s navigation system using the Send to Car feature. This feature’s only available for certain participating car manufacturers.
Make sure your car is saved at www.google.com/maps/sendtocar.
Open Google Maps on your computer and search for a location.
Click Send to car in the info card that appears below the search box.

Thank goodness, love this feature actually. I like to plan trips sometimes or find restaurants on yelp then send them to the audi with google maps. Saves much time punching it in while in the car.

Tried to do this on my iPhone 5s but can't get it to work.

Just tried this on my PC...setup real easy and works in the car. This is a great little feature.

It won't work on iOS Safari on the iPhone since flash is required. If you want to use STC from your iP 5s, download the "Send To Car" app.

Silent Drone

If you have an iphone download the audi app "MMI Connect" and you can use that to search google maps and send destinations to your car, or it will send destinations that are in your contacts or calendar to the car. Nifty little app imho.

Yep, it's been there for a few weeks now. I finally switched over to the new Google Maps. This was the one missing feature that kept me using Google Maps Classic.

I just tried using the "Maps" app on my Google Nexus and my Galaxy S3. Can't seem to figure out how to send to my car. Sad to think that a Google device wouldn't work while the Apple device would. Hopefully I am just missing something.

No MMI Connect in Google Play store either. I did find an App called "Send To Car" that brings the functionality to Android. Will try this later today to see if it is in my car.
