2017 A6 vs 2016 A6
I want to buy a used A6. I'm in US.
am looking at the 2017 model and its a bit out of budget since its so new. I can wait a few months for the used prices to come down but was wondering what really changed over the previous year (2016) and if i can get the 2016 model. I tried looking up on elsewhere but could not get a clear understanding of what changed in 2017 vs 2016. Perhaps a 2016 with certain upgrades is fairly close to 2017 ? Would really appreciate your help.

They are nearly identical, the one major change is CarPlay/Android auto was added for 17. New for 17 is also the competition package (few more HP, sports seats and sports diff like in the S6).

Thanks. I have determined that i do want CarPlay. Is it standard in all 2017 A6 models ? I dont see it as specifically listed in some used car listings i saw.

It’s standard on all (2017+) A6s sold in the US. Used car listings are a crap shoot, best is to look at the sticker to confirm what options and packages your car has. Some dealers post the sticker on their website with the listing, but they should always be able to email it to you upon request if it’s not posted.

The info should be on the sticker itself. You can tell if it has CarPlay if it says “Audi smartphone interface”. I believe it will also s line if that’s the case. The window sticker will have all the standard equipment, as well as additional packages/options.
