Default Just bought a 2016 Audi A6 3.0TDI with 28,000 miles - Is something wrong with it?

As the title says, I bought a used A6 3.0 TDi from the local Mercedes dealership. I'm in MN and they said the car came from Colorado.

I love the way it looks and I had test driven a few others before buying this one. Over the last 4 days of driving it seems like the brakes "shudder" and the steering wheel seems to vibrate when I brake moderately. Something just seems "off". I called the dealership and I'm waiting for their reply.

This one also has the sport tires on it and I a wondering the hassle of putting winter tires on. Should I just buy a separate set of rims too to make it easier?

Thanks everyone. It's my first time posting here.

Seems like one of the most common issues with our cars is premature warping and wearing of the rotors even on low mileage cars. It could be what you are experiencing.

Not sure what location you're in, but you definitely should not run summer performance tires in snow or extremely low temperatures. Seems like quite a few people get a winter set depending on where you are, or get all seasons.

Front rotors. Dealer should replace with OEM since you just bought it.

Most likely need front pads and rotors. 50/50 if Mercedes dealer will do it, but you can always ask. It would have been better to report it during the test drive, they might have taken care of it. Again, doesn't hurt to ask. If they won't do it, you can have an Indy shop do it or diy. Not too hard to do if you are handy with tools. Lots of youtube videos. I suggest not getting oem rotors and pads. They always warp and spendy. There are plenty of pad and rotor options.

Yes, just get separate rims with snows. Lots of used ones at reasonable prices. Check out Tire rack or Discounttiredirect.com for wheels/tires. Best time is around the Fall to order them. I used 18" wheels for my 2017 A6 3.0T. No need to get 19's or larger, unless its looks you are after.

Dealership called and are going to look at it Monday. They seem to be doing the right thing. They did ask "did you notice it during the test drive?". I'm not sure I did and I was driving a car I'd never driven before so wasn't sure it was just how that car worked.

Hopefully it is a problem they can diagnose and fix. I don't see how anyone could hit the brakes and not think something was weird. Wish me luck.

That would be good if they do the brake job. You probably notice the pulsation slowing from freeway speed vs driving on city street. If you didn't go that fast during your test drive, you may not have noticed it that much.

I noticed it during the test drive with 60 miles on my 2018 A6. Took it back to dealership and they put on two front rotors. Anyone know how they get warped with so few miles?

Yours is an anomaly or someone switched used for your new ones, defective new rotors? Big mystery there.
