On the subject of seats, on the comfort seats in the Prestige there is a thin piece of a suede-like material near the console (Both driver and passenger). Since the rest of the seats are leather, does anyone know what this is there for?

So they don't squeak. The seat belts have the same material so they don't rattle.

I also believe the Alcantara wears better.

Had the same issue back in 2012 after 3 weeks of ownership. Also the leather wore like the car had 50k miles not 1200. At first the dealer said we caused it but after getting AoA involved they ended up replacing the whole seat.

Never had the issue again and my advice is to contact AoA. They usually suck but sometimes you get a good rep who will get you what you deserve (a new seat).

How does this process work? do you just call them and put in a claim?

I called AoA and explained to them that I am a new Audi owner and am very unhappy with my purchase. They asked why and I sent them pictures of the seat and how this issue has never happened on any of my other cars.

I told them my dealer and my SA and within a few days my SA called me apologizing asking me to come back in because they want to make things "right".

Glad to hear that Audi is standing behind their product even if you had to twist a arm to get their attention.

Do your other seats have the same coating?
