LED headlight functionality we don't have, why?

So someone consciously stood up in a meeting and proposed that we take off the amber turn signals that we use for all of our cars for the rest of the world and, at additional cost, we will replace them with the same color lights that we use for lighting and braking?
I suppose that this idiot went on to state that although it will cost more money and it's not as safe we will do it anyway because Americans never indicate and they all have too much money?

I'm no expert on this, and I totally agree that amber is preferable, but while I am quick to lay blame at Audi's door, I think this one is more fairly laid at that of our own fine government....

When it comes to not having the full Europe capable LED headlights, that when you really appreciate our govt. regulations(sarcasm). It sure would be nice to have a world standard for auto safety. It would probably reduce the cost of the vehicle by a few thousand but I do not expect this to happen in my life time.
