Default Lunchtime Drive

Needed to get out of the office for a while and it is a beautiful day out there. Took the car on some windy country roads. Accelerating through a corner at 70 MPH without a hint of roll and plenty of power to spare certainly blew off my office weariness.

I can relate... before all the flooding in Colorado, one of my favorite stress relief things to do was take the drive from home to Estes Park CO and back - delightfully twisty mountain roads backdropped with jaw dropping scenery.

With the windows down, sunroof open, and some good music playing it is one of the true pleasures of owning the A6.

Sadly, those roads are closed with major sections destroyed in a 500 year flood. It is probably early next year at best until they are open again.

There's always the US 285 to US 24 loop from Denver to Buena Vista and up to Leadville to CO 91 on to Breckenridge. Should be relatively dry along there.

Predicted to snow tomorrow up in the mountains. Should slow things down a bit, but improve the view.

MileHighJC, would you mind sharing/recommend the place that applied your 35% window tint? It looks really nice.

Ray Reductions in Longmont. They did both my clear bra, and window tint. Ive been very happy with both - I was very skittish about the whole thing, had heard some stories about poor and/or careless workmanship with some shops - like too much water causing problems with the door electronics.

The car was done on time, at a decent price, and VERY professionally. They moved to a new building shortly after completing mine... havent been to the new shop yet, but would not hesitiate to return.
