From MB E350 (2010) to Audi A6 (C7) 2016
I have been driving MB's for the last 20+ years but I think MB has gotten too big for their trousers and their pricing is ridiculous as it goes up 2% to 4% per year, having said that I thought I'd give Audi (A6) a try as they make a good car, or so I have been told. In any case I have owned the A6 (C7) 2016 for 3 months and I am still very much in the dark when it comes to using all the features my Audi has. First and foremost, the Jukebox feature is still a total mystery to me. My 2010 MB E350 had a system similar to the Audi Jukebox but much more user friendly and intuitive. I have loads of CD's and I still have no idea of how to transfer songs from my CD's from the CD and burn the songs into the Jukebox. I give up, what's the secret, I'm so fed up with all this BS. I am fairly technically inclined so I never dreamed of it being this difficult, to the point that I am seriously considering trading the A6 for a 2017 E330. Can any of you nice folks (Audi people seem to be much more friendly than MB people) give me the simplest of explanation as to how this system works. Much thanks.

The Jukebox is just another in car media storage source in addition to SD cards and your phone or other portable device. It's a defined amount of storage space on a portion the car's hard drive.
The way most do it is to import your CDs to a supported format like MP3 on your computer using iTunes or equivalent. Then you copy the song files to an SD card. Insert the SD card in the car's slot then go to the import menu and select Jukebox as the source and the songs will copy from the card (If you use iTunes, copy the song files from the iTunes Music Folder in your computer's user library, not from iTunes itself).
Your manual will tell you where to import songs to the Jukebox from the SD card. (You can also copy songs to a thumb drive and download to the Jukebox).
(Note that you cannot import commercial CDs to the car directly unless changes are made with Vag-Com after the hidden menu is activated. That is a topic left for other discussion threads).

I did not like the Jukebox either so I just loaded my songs on an SD card and I play them from there. I can't imagine it would be an issue that would make someone want to buy a different car, but to each their own.

Yes, the Jukebox provides an album browser and allows for global random play. SD cards only allow random play within an album.

Must admit I struggled a bit with the Jukebox too, coming from a MB C350, that allowed direct import. Somewhat defeats the purpose of not importing directly, and having to put it on an SD card via ITunes, though not enough of a problem to even remotely make me re-consider my car choice.

No one car is going to have the very best of everything - each one will have its shortcomings. The C7 A6 is no exception but taken as a whole, it's a pretty impressive vehicle that will stand up exceptionally well to any luxury sedan in its class on the market today.

With the 2016s you have two SD drives plus two USB ports. So you can actually get a portable hard drive and store all of your song on it as an extra storage drive and connect it to your car for a ton of storage. You can rip all of your cds and store as wave or mp3 on an external hard drive. They are cheap these days, got a Toshiba 2TB drive for $89 on amazon last year.
