Mercedes E350 Lease Ending
My Mercedes E350 lease ends next month and I am looking at options.
Once again the A6 is on my short list. (3.0 Premium Plus)
I have test driven the car a few times and came away mostly impressed.
Has anyone here owned a E350 or driven it more than a short test drive? I would be interested in your thoughts regarding the differences and ownership experience.
Thanks!

My Dad has a 2012 E350 4Matic and I just got my 2013 A6 Prestige. I must say they are both very very nice riding cars. I think in my opinion the E350 rides more "luxurious" aka softer than the A6. The A6 is a smooth but "sporty" ride, almost feel like you can take corners at 100mph. The steering in the E350 is much looser than the A6. The ambient lighting is a little nicer in the E350 as it goes on the dash and the A6 is only on the doors and the floor areas. I would say depending on what you are trying to achieve they are both winners. Just make sure you look at some options that are "must haves" in your A6 since they may not offer it or have it in your current package (premium plus).

I drove my friend's E350 the new model (W212) when he was visiting. I found E350 feels more luxurious with cabin bit quieter than A6 at HWY speeds. My A6 is more powerful & handling is superior when I tried sharp turn on E350 there was bit of lean while A6 no sweat. I have sport pkg on A6. E350 has slightly more room in back seats. Even they both compete but both cars are different, E350 is luxury/Sport while A6 is Sport/Luxury. In normal day to day driving (no track perf) they can come very close but A6 performance is oustanding.

I have an E350 Sport and the cabin is not that quiet at highway speeds, however, this could be partially due to the P Zero Nero tires. If the A6 is nosier I won't be happy. Will need to listen for this on my next test drive. I have noticed that the 535 seems to be the quietest of the 3 at highway speeds.
Also interesting comment on the back seat - I have heard the opposite in that the A6 was roomier.

Does your friend have the Sport or Luxury E350?

Just traded
I just traded an E350. Sport that I drove about 33K for a A6 Prestige 3.0. I agree with most of the comments but I prefer the Audi. Fit and finish on the interior is better on the Audi and the standard seats on the Benz are MBtex better known as plastic. Overall electronics integration much better on the Audi. Better handilIng as well as sportier overall performance. I have the 19" sport package and it in very quiet. No edge to the Benz in my view. If you want soft luxury go with the Benz, otherwise the Audi.
