Default Mirror heating, bad design?

Im in the south florida weather where temps are in the 70s and it’s humid as f. Most mornings my mirrors are mist’d up and I realized I cannot force mirror heating on because 70 something degrees lies outside of the mirror heating feature temperature range. Say whaaaat?

I feel your pain every morning. This is my biggest irritation with this car. I've checked the forums at ross-tech, and nobody has a solution for this.

Just ran into this dumb issue.

35°F outside and we got a surprise heavy snow squall. Sitting at a light, wind at my tail, the mirrors coated with snow quickly and guess what, they stayed snow covered.

Manual states..."The mirrors are heated depending on the outside temperature."

I guess it has to be below freezing.

LAME.

Post 1 states 70, you state 35. There must be a set temp but I think that 35 is way too low and mine work above that so you may have another issue.

Verybumpy, that’s a great name! So your suspension doesn’t work either on USA roads?

Are you sure your mirror dial is pointing to the 12 o’clock position? Otherwise the mirror heating won’t activate. Mine has worked in the 60s and below.

This solved the issue. Thank you.

Frustrating. No where in the manual does it state mirror heat needs this **** to be set to a specific spot.
