Default 14 TDI Dash + Hazards wouldn't turn off

This happened to me today. I came back from a short drive and went to turn off the car. I got out and got a beeping sound as if I didn't turn off the car. I immediately got back in the car and noticed the engine was off but the hazard lights were on along with the dash. It also had a beeping tone like the key wasn't in the car. I went to press the hazard button and it only sped up the blinking. I tried turning the car on again and off. I put car into reverse and drove a few feet before shutting it off again. I then left the car running while i searched for a solution on google. I couldn't find one so I turned it off again and this time it finally shut down.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Note: There was no warning lights on the dash.

It has separation anxiety? That seems quite odd.. I have a '14 TDI and have not had that occur to me. Perhaps a trip to the dealer is in store?

I would do an MMI restart/reboot. The instructions are in the owners or MMI manual. It is just a matter of holding down three of the buttons/switches on the console simultaneously. This is similar to the cure-all CTL/ALT/Delete we used to always be doing with PC's lol

This happened to me for a short period of time when I left the sunroof tilted open. Perhaps there is a momentary switch that done gone haywire.

MMI reboot: press Menu+center selector+upper right function button simultaneously until the screen retracts then release.

Actually, you can use this anytime the MMI gets flaky. I've had to do it about 5 or 6 times in 3 years. Just like any computer, the MMI loses its mind once in awhile. BTW, it's in the manual.
