The dealer I go to won't perform an MMI update "just because" as they don't get paid unless its a warranty issue.

I had 0609 and my MMI version now shows 0715 after their update. I listen at volume levels between 5-10 most comfortably. >20 would be way too loud. Check your F/R and side to side balance: after the dealer did 0566 a while back they blitzed the Bose Amp and had to reprogram it. Symptoms were I needed to really increase the volume >15 to listen comfortably and the F/R and S/S balance was all messed up. They did eventually get it right. Search for previous threads on the topic for more info.

I figured that was the case, which is why I gave them a warranty reason to update. They didn't do it though.

That's just not true with 0715. Because it contains some "fixes", Audi has approved dealers to perform this update under warranty. If your dealer is balking, call AOA or another dealer.

Default Bose much improved, but front center speaker on cell phone calls worse

Just got the latest MMI715 update from 609. Yes, the Bose much better, but the front center speaker got worse with bluetooth phone calls. UgH!

Well, I have my 5,000 mile service coming up before too long. What do I need to say to service to get my MMI updated from 609 to 715?

"Please update my MMI to 0715". That's all I said, the writer typed it in on the service order and it was done. That's how it supposed to work, anyway.

My 15k is coming up and I have to agree. Any car I pay over 50k for the dealer should do any update to anything I ask that just requires a couple button pushes on their vagcom.

I agree that would be nice but it doesn't always happen. Not every MMI update has been authorized by Audi with dealer remibursement under the warranty. I.e. 0566 and 0609 updates were not, 0715 is. Also, updates are VIN specific. Audi service depts. don't use VCDS/Vag-Com; they have their own dedicated equipment to perform diagnostics and software updates and it takes more time than just checking off a box or two in the software as with VCDS mods.

Took 2012 A6 Prestige with B&O to North Gwinnett Audi in Atlanta. The technician entered the VIN and 715 MMI update is not available for it. They were willing to do it, but could not find the update for this vehicle's VIN
