MMI misbehavior: just quirks, or defective?
I have a 2012 A6 w/Prestige. I've noticed several things in the MMI that seem like they're defects. I'm wondering if anyone else has similar issues. Things I've seen:
* Twice, some of my radio presets have disappeared. Not all. One of the times, one entry disappeared and another changed slots.
* Sometimes the unit takes just a second or two to become active, sometimes several seconds, and a couple of times I had to "wake it up" by manually pressing the screen deploy button.
* The radio sometimes will come on at my preset list and sometimes at the station list. Seems to be related to how long the car is turned off.
* A handful of other quirks...sometimes the oil level is visibile, sometimes just the message about waiting for the car to warm up (not consistent with actual use of the car), sometimes satellite radio track information is not updated, etc.
AFAIK I have the latest MMI software (don't know the version offhand but had the dealer check that a couple of months ago).
These things seem like either (egregious) software defects or possibly bad memory (especially withe the presets issue). (Does anyone test this stuff!?)
Has anyone else encountered similar issues?

yes to all the above. I have the same gripes. Add to that...when I first turn on the car, the station that is playing isn't the one that is highlighted (it highlights preset 1, but is playing the last station I was listening to, maybe preset 13). I think they are just quirks we have to live with. Annoying nonetheless...
(I did have stations disappear from presets, but i think that was more my wife's doing then car demons...)

I too in my 2012 A6 Prestige experience intermittent slow wake up issues, turning on with presets or on a the FM band - I use Sirius most of the time, and the oil message. Quirky like previously mentioned. I have 715-2 also.

Don't have the issues you are experiencing, but know that others have experienced odd behaviour which has ultimately been found to be as a result of MMI control keys sticking following a liquid spillage.
