Might do this. Mine is 715. Any reason why I should or shouldn't update?

715 fixed the crappy audio so you've got that already, the 2015 cars shipped with 814. 942 came out in August 2016. I believe it fixes some security stuff and I also read it fixes the display sometimes not coming up/out on C7.

Dealer should be able to do this under warranty, otherwise PM me.

The issue that I was trying to address was around occasional radio cutouts, but although they are reduced, I still think I need to upgrade the radio hardware to be more current and completely resolve. I was just hoping to avoid another dealer CP-removal charge.

Thanks for all that. Great info. At 97k miles and the second owner, I doubt Audi will give me the time of day.
No issues and no substantive improvements means that I'll stay where I am for now, I think.
Thanks!

I had original 3G T-Mobile MMI software (2013), then was upgraded to 814 with 3G frequency change, and with 814 about once a month the MMI screen will freeze at the Audi Logo after it comes up, no idea what combination of settings induce this, but with 400 miles left until my warranty expired, my dealer was happy to update the MMI software to 914_3 I think. I just brought in a copy of the TSB and explained the problem. Time will tell if this fixes it, but they said it would.

All C7s from MY2012 have had 3G modems. T-Mo started changing the 3G bands in some areas last year which for MY2012/2013, required a modem update to restore 3G. When the modem was updated, it included an updated MMI version (I believe 0814).

Default Any new info on benefits of 942 update? Worth an upgrade from 814?

Have not seem much on anyone living long term with the 942 mmi update.

Read the post from Raiden254 about TSB 2030465 and what conditions qualify for an update. Very helpful.

My 2014 A7 was updated last year to 814, with several noticeable improvements. But it seems the 942 update simply corrects a few issues.

A7 goes in for the 35,000 service. Looking for feedback on whether to ask for the 942 update, and any benefits. My MMI is working fine.

Can anyone tell me if this version is new or should I attempt to get updated. I am in a 2016 A6.

Thanks!

Any ideas whether or not Audi covers this outside the factory warranty period? My 2012 is out of warranty and I'm in one of the areas where the upgraded network is. I'm currently using 2G but it's so slow its not worth it. I'm not sure paying for Audi to upgrade the modem is even worth it though.
