Any ideas whether or not Audi covers this outside the factory warranty period? My 2012 is out of warranty and I'm in one of the areas where the upgraded network is. I'm currently using 2G but it's so slow its not worth it. I'm not sure paying for Audi to upgrade the modem is even worth it though.
715 fixed the crappy audio so you've got that already, the 2015 cars shipped with 814. 942 came out in August 2016. I believe it fixes some security stuff and I also read it fixes the display sometimes not coming up/out on C7.
Dealer should be able to do this under warranty, otherwise PM me.
The issue that I was trying to address was around occasional radio cutouts, but although they are reduced, I still think I need to upgrade the radio hardware to be more current and completely resolve. I was just hoping to avoid another dealer CP-removal charge.
Hey man. Would you mind telling me how you got all the information in the attached picture? I'm looking for months to see what they got updated in every patch they came out with. I have the oldest firmware that I've seen so far in this thread P0487. I assume it came with the car and never got updated. I want to do a mmi update but not the navigation since I plan on installing NaviTouch® Android 2.0 interface that adds touch screen to my 8" factory sistem and android etc. And since that's going to be pretty pricey I was wondering if it's any reason for me to get the mmi update(I have Bose so I assume I will have to pay a visit to the dealership since I care about my sound a lot)
Had the dealership update the base software and did the maps update with myaudi and the USB to the 2018 version.
Can you confirm if the base software version is upto date?
Also how is your experience using the box for Carplay/AA without the touchscreen and just the audi MMI controls.
I'm considering getting that as well, as I don't think corporate Audi will ever provide the 2017 software to the 2016 post facelift versions

539 is the newest update. I saw the 2019 map was just released a couple weeks ago also. I love the carplay module I purchased and I say carplay module because I've tried hooking it up to a couple androids and its garbage and completely unusable. I did everything I could to try to get the factory smartphone interface option but everyone I talk to on the Audi corporate level was saying that it wasn't possible and was actually a hardware not software issue. Sound quality isn't that great but I just leave it connected to the Bluetooth at the same time and that works fine for me. The touch pad is very limited for carplay but the scroll wheel works just fine for me. For the $240 I paid, I would say its worth it for the mirroring itself since you don't have to deal with VIM and the screen on the 2016 is pretty clear.
@Wuplur Do you happen to know if P3327 is the latest MMI version for the 2018 A6 (USA)? I don't understand the numbering system, since there are 4 number digits and P is after K... My dealer basically refused to even look it up to see if there was an update (since I was complaining about the Bose sound system a bit...)

FWIW unlike other Audi parts the letter P or K does not indicate revision. P means that is the version that shipped with the car and K means it has been updated.

Yours is the only other one I’ve seen with P3327. My S6 has a build date of April 2018 and is also one of the latest or last ones made. I haven’t seen a higher FW Number.
