Motion sensor trunk release

According to the repair manual, there is a dedicated moudule "rear lid opener control module J938" and "Power Rear Lid Opener Sensor -G750 " hidden behind the lower bumper cover.

Audi should buy the technology from Kia or Ford, the A6 version is best disabled to avoid the embarrassment of a garbage system.

Mine rarely works on the first try. Not an awesome feature.

I have about a 99% success rate (same with our BMW). On the B9 A4 forum someone from an Audi dealership posted a brief video with the proper technique (really simple actually) and since then no issues here.

I sometimes walk past the trunk area and it will open the trunk, of course, I didn't want it to open but that is the only time it works. It has never worked when I wanted it to.
