Default NO BOSCH MONEY until fix is approved

I spoke with my very friendly Claims Specialist this morning while doing my verification of ownership and I asked her about when I should expect the Bosch portion. She stated to me that the $1,500 Bosch Gen 2 payment would not be issued until the fix is approved by the court. This applies whether you opt for the fix or not. I was somewhat surprised by this revelation because I assumed Bosch wanted to get this behind them. Apparently I assumed incorrectly. Has anyone else been told differently? I wonder if the outcome of the fix changes Bosch's legal position with the settlement and the amount they pay out to owners.

Without going through all the paperwork, I remember that the Bosch payment was to be made once the verification of ownership was complete, not the approval of the fix.

She seemed very certain and responded quickly to my question as if she was asked it many times before. What is interesting is that she gave me a Bosch Settlement phone number (844.305.1928) which ended up being an automated message explaining the Bosch portion of the settlement. At no point was there any mention of when the payment would be made other than a check would be mailed. Can it be any more vague than this?

From the final settlement...

5.4. Any Class Member whose filed claim has been approved or is approved in the future
in either or both of the Volkswagen Settlements will receive an Automatic Payment via check by
mail. Throughout the Settlement Benefit Period, the Claims Administrator will coordinate with the
Claims Supervisor in the Volkswagen Settlements to identify—on at least a bi-weekly basis—which
Class Members’ Claims have been approved in the Volkswagen Settlements. The Claims
Administrator shall mail Automatic Payments to those Class Members no later than 10 business days
after it has identified them. The first Automatic Payments will be mailed by the Claims
Administrator no later than 10 business days after entry of the Final Approval Order.

5.8. Class Members whose Claims are approved or rejected by the Claims Administrator
will be notified by email or letter that the Claims Administrator will send within 5 business days of
the eligibility determination. The email/letter will explain why the Claim has been approved or
rejected.

5.9. Class Members whose Claims are approved by the Claims Administrator will receive
a compensation check by mail from the Bosch Settlement Fund, which check will be mailed by the
Claims Administrator no later than 10 business days after the eligibility determination has been
made.

Not being a lawyer, did I read it right? After the claims approval, which has occurred for me, the check will be mailed?

section 5.4 applies to me, you and most everyone.

the other sections are for people that were not part of the vw settlement for whatever reason but still claim the Bosch money.

10 business days. Nothing about the fix being delivered. The language is simple and lacks Latin, not sure why you need a lawyer.

Language appears quite clear. Maybe we should change the title of this thread.

I just repeated what I was told by the VW claims representative. In looking at all the threads for the Gen 2 owners, I have not found any post yet that someone has received their Bosch money. Claim appointments started on July 7th for some and I would have thought someone from that group would have posted they received the funds. We are now well past 10 days from those appointments so I would be interested in hearing if anyone has received the Bosch funds. If they have then the VW claims rep had misinformed me.

my appt was the 5th. Claim approved 11th. Gives them until 25th to mail a check. Guess I'll get it earliest end of month or start of August. I don't think any 3.0L will be before that since they only started appts first week of July I think.

Just curious as to anyone who has gotten their Bosch money yet? It is sure looking like the advisor I spoke with early last month was correct in telling me that the Bosch monies will not be paid out to the Gen 2 owners until the court approves the fix.
