Odd Steering Column Sound
Hello. New to the forum. Just got an A6. Love the car!
After driving for about an hour, I get an odd groaning sound in the steering column. It's not there when the car is cold. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause and remedy? Thanks! |

What year is this vehicle? It does not appear to be a 2012 or 2013. You might check the various A6 pages be going to the forums link at the top of the Audi World homepage and post in the forum for the model year of your car. If it is a C7, excuse me, since my old eyes might not be seeing the model year for what it is. Odd problem, sounds like maybe a lube issue, but others likely have better opinions.

It could be a bearing issue but it sounds more like a couple pieces of plastic trim are rubbing. You could try spraying the joints with a interior protectant like 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I am experiencing the same issue on a 2016 Audi A6 Prestige. Did anyone figure out the issue? Please help.

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...groan-2847894/ I'm new to this and wanted to understand if lubrication from the footwell area would be sufficient. And what kind of lubricant would be best for this. |
