Oil question

My C7 has 100k miles and I've been using Castrol synthetic 0w-40. Is this too heavy? Should I be using a 30 weight?

What engine do you have? What was the recommended viscosity when new? I am at 89k miles and I am still using the recommended oil and am not experiencing any burning issues

I have the 3.0 supercharged and I have had to replace about 2 or 3 quarts since the last oil change.

i believe the oil viscosity for your car is 5W40

I don't see that Audi recommends any single weight oils.
Check to see if the oil that you are using meets the Audi standard of 'VW 502 00'.
Here is a list of the recommended oils that meets Audi's requirements.
