At 64K miles, added 1/2 a quart of oil. The MMI was showing 25% oil as was the stick (maybe a smidgen less than that). Not bad, for oil consumption (correct me) 1/2 a quart in 4000 miles, with 95% of that in the city.
Added one cup of distilled water tot the cooling system.
Very solid car. Still enjoy the car but it was never a love affair, might be looking for something else at about 1 year of ownership.

I drive mostly in the city and feel bad when I see 17.9 mpg. So that tells me the car is a bit big for a city car. But then when I drive on the highway, it all makes sense. The car shines there, it is a great cruiser. It is a well balanced car too, handles like a charm.
In the city though, I might go back to a 3 series, liked the handling a bit more, loved the sound of the engine a lot more, and mpg was a bit better. Had to really wrangle it at times.
Could be happier with an s4. I will be test driving...

18 months, ~10K uneventful miles, a few recalls, and a couple of oil changes later, my A6 is going back where I bought it from: CarMax.
Moving on, back to bimmer, found a 6 speed convertible 328.
Will post a pic.
