I've got a 2012 Audi A6 prestige with 54k miles and just had the side view mirror stop folding up. I took it into a local shop that specializes in Audis and they told me the motor failed and that I would need to replace the entire mirror housing because it's all sold in one piece with the motor. Their estimate was around $900 with labor.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue with the mirror motor failing, and if so were you able to just replace the motor or did you have to replace the housing as well?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I just checked Genuineaudipatrs,com and they show all the mirror parts are available separately including the folding right side adjust motor. Cost $123.50.
