I am getting a strange rattling/vibration noise somewhere underneath the car at about 3k rpm (in park only). Any ideas?

I have rattling noise coming from the steering wheel...Brought it in to the dealer 3 times and they never fix the problem....

Also I can hear rattling noise coming from the moon roof...sigh

My last a6 sunroof rattled. But it wasn't the sunroof. It was the sliding sunshade cover. Every time I went over a bump, it rattled. I stuck a piece of felt between the glass and shade cover, and it stopped. So they replaced shade cover and it was gone.

Sometimes you have to be your own detective with rattles and tell the service people what they need to do to fix it.

Kinda frustrating, but techs are paid by the hour and Audi does not compensate them to chase after rattles that are a nuisance. So you wonder why they can't "hear" things you do.

The unfortunate thing about rattles is the intermittent nature. It annoys you, but then you bring it to the shop and now they are church mouse quiet and they can't duplicate it.

You should offer for a technician or service adviser to drive your car home for a couple nights and see if they hear the same thing you do.

I have one somewhere in the rear right suspension that is intermittent. I am thinking that it would probably be easier to trade the car than try and get it fixed by the dealer.
