Default Recommendations for a used A6

Hello all, I'm new to the A6 world. I'm looking at a 2013 A6 2.0 CPO.

Does anyone have recommendations on things to watch out for when buying a used A6? Anything special to ask the dealer for?

The car I'm looking at has 46,000 miles. When I took it for a test drive there was a bit of a hum from the back drive train or wheel area but the dealer said they would fix that today.

I would look at a couple of things besides obvious (carfax)

I would prefer it have lower miles..My 2013 A6 has 21K on it now. I know its low mileage but many cars in luxury market average 10k per year (think of lease terms). Any CPO car I have purchased was current end of year demo (less than 5K) and they add CPO warranty on the END of your regular warranty..In my case is turns out to be 5.5 yrs and 70K...Did the same on a 2013 BMW X5 (5.2yrs 70K)

If you check on of my recent posts you'll see why warranty is important..Just had a MMI failure in my A6 ($5800+labor) covered by warranty

Secondly try to determine service records..45K service is a big one and usually the last one covered under AudiCare..make sure they we all done timely (every 10K)

Lastly, try to determine if the car was garaged/used a family hauler/executive car
- check seats for car seat imprints, unusual pedal wear, makeup smudges, juicebox spills in seat tracks. I always check exhaust pipe looking for soot buildup...Audis always burn oil....Sounds crazy but check anyway.

If you feel satisfied..buy it and don't look back..drive the heck out of it and enjoy...

Thank you, It did have all the service records and it does have AudiCare but it sounds like the 45k service was the last service to get with AudiCare. Car really looks brand new on the inside. Did not know about the soot/oil but will check. The mileage is a bit higher then I wanted but the price is right and with the CPO warranty added on I feel comfortable.

I heard a few things about requesting an upgrade to the MMI. Not sure what version this car currently has.

You can find the MMI version by going to MENU>SETUP MMI>Version information. Unless the driver had it updated, you likely have 0566 in a MY2013. Try to get the dealer to agree to update the MMI to 0715-2 or later. The later versions added a few features and eradicated bugs.

Thanks Snagitseven, I'm moving forward and may take delivery today. I guess the worst case is that I need to identify a bug that they need to fix but will still try to get the latest update before I take delivery.

There's no better leverage to get a dealer to update the MMI than when purchasing a car.

Version is 0609. Didn't get an upgrade to the latest but may try again. My leverage would have been better if I wasn't in the process of picking up the car

But, I'm extremely happy with the deal. A CPO 2013 A6 2T Premium Plus, Gray, Light Gray interior, Sports Package and Side Assist for 30.8K. Beautiful car and drives great. Could have bought a new Accord touring but even my wife says the A6 is in a different league.

As I recall, 0609 added Street View and fixed some things related to Bluetooth song info with iPhones. You could always try the "my wife's Windows OS phone has issues with the MMI" complaint which might get you an upgrade to 0814 which apparently resolves that issue. I'm going to try that next for an upgrade from 0715-2.

Enjoy the car!

So since I picked up my car I noticed a problem with the navigation. Got it back from the dealer today and they replaced module 5f with the newer version. I now get 3G and the software is at 814 I'm happy camper...
