Service Campaign 24C0
Does anyone have any info on the ECM Software Update - Service Campaign 24C0 released in 2016
Audi says "On Audi vehicles with 3.0L TFSI engine manufactured within a specific period, the diagnostic thresholds for the catalytic converters were programmed too tightly in the engine control unit. As a result, the engine warning lamp may light up even though the catalytic converters are working properly."
I went back and checked and I have declined this on my last two maintenance visits. But I can't recall why other than I likely read here some issues with the campaign affecting performance or fuel economy. It was also in the midst of one of Audi's emmission cheating scandals.
Reason I ask is I am due for maintenance now and my MIL has come off an on intermittently over the last few months. Not sure if it is related or not. Last time that happened they did the Carbon cleanout of the engine on their dime. Wondering if this service campaign is now ok to do or will it have negative consequences on performance / fuel economy / etc.
Thanks

My guess is carbon build up again. The only thing the service campaign did for me is reduce my gas mileage. If I'd of known about that before I went in I would not have had it done. My bad!

Don't do it. My SA told me if it were his car he would not let them do that campaign. I have not had the light so as far as I'm concerned if not broken do not fix it. How many miles on your car that you are experiencing the dreaded carbon build up? I sure don't want to be in this car when it need that on my dime.
Best,
Jeff

Thanks.
yea I found this thread from another site with several mentioning the loss of fuel economy and/or power
https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...16-09-21/page7
I will pass again.
As to the carbon buildup, I can't recall the first instance - but probably around 50K. I am at 75K miles now
