+1 there is a TSB for this.
It says to use a dry lube. Pull the carpet back and lube the joint where the boot meets the shaft.
Mine went away as soon as the temperatures cooled off.

As I understand it, that TSB was pulled (maybe not). In any case, as I mentioned earlier, the lube is not a permanent fix - the groan will return. Even the replacement of the intermediate shaft is temporary although it will last longer before the new boot will eventually wear out. It's poor design with no permanent solution.

I had the same sound. I don't know if all cars have a power tilt column but mine does. If I just changed the tilt angle and I can make it go away. I installed a heated wheel and though maybe I missed some clearance issue but it looks like I didn't.

Drivers footwell area.
I am not 100% positive, but I believe when I had it on the lift there was a rubber boot that enclosed it, or made it otherwise impossible to hit that area with lube from underneath.
