Default Steering wheel leather

My steering wheel is starting to look old and beat up. I'd really like to rewrap it in the original leather. Is that possible?

Seems like the best thing would be to replace it with an OE Audi wheel.. you could probably even find a used one for low cost if you looked long enough on eBay.

I was hoping there was a better way than removing the whole steering, airbag etc. there's got to be a place that will rewrap your steering wheel with an oem quality leather.

Always wondered how these were, as cheap as they are. For only $50, maybe you could be the guinea pig

It's definitely worth a try but I'll have to find one for the 3 spoke steering wheel that comes with the sport suspension. Thanks for the info

Removing the steering wheel and air bag is actually quite easy. To remove it all you have to do is unclip two metal clips and two wiring harnesses. IMO it would be far easier than rewrapping your original wheel. Consider posting a wanted ad, and asking for a wheel which meets your specifications.

Well, if I'm going to remove the steering wheel perhaps I should consider adding the Active Lane Assist stalk.

they have a few others with real leather or suede also. Apparently it wraps over the stock cover so it’ll be a little thicker I imagine.

How hard would that be to do?? Would it also require adding/replacing other parts, and/or coding?

For what it's worth, these are made from "Genuine Leather" per the listing. Genuine leather is actually the cheapest (or close to the cheapest) type of leather you can buy. Full grain leather is where you want to head for quality leather. That is the extent of my leather knowledge.
