Not so hard these days. Thieves are using key cloners that use a wireless device or app to steal the program codes, unlock and start a car. Especially easy with keyless entry/start or when the keys are within range like would be in a repair shop.

Default STOLEN A6

So, much to my dismay, the police have the A6. I called April (the world's best Service Writer) who told me that another customer, a woman, had her Audi stolen in Nov. from the same body shop. Are there any lawyers out there or are they reading the fine print on their TDI A8's? The woman from Nov. has yet to accept her "trashed" car. Sorry for the cheap shot (lawyers) but my son is in law school & needs this needling. Should I contact her? Who wants to buy a trashed car? What should I be pressing for? I still pay insurance even though I'v been without my car for a month.
Your valued input would be appreciated.

What happened to your car after they got it back?

I'm guessing that since you haven't taken delivery, they might be able to amend the initial claim, so you only pay the deductible once.

Default STILL STOLEN A6

I don't mean to be a pest BUT the Anchorage Police have held my car- stolen from a body shop- for 2 weeks. They need it for "evidence." My cynical heart says that there's blood on the leather. Should I visit a lawyer? Liberty Mutual has offered me a rental car, which I have not accepted, because I don't feel that is the issue. I think my A6- less than 20,000 miles- is probably trashed. Thanks, in advance, for any input.

Sorry to hear about your stolen and recovered A6. Is there a way for you to check the car while in police custody so you can determine its overall condition whether it was trashed or not? Not sure you need a lawyer at this point in time. Why spend for one. Just go and ask the police permission to see it. Just don't touch anything since it is being used as evidence.

Perhaps demand the Audi dealer pick up the car and check it's condition before you accept it. Make sure the warranty is not voided. Once you accept it you are in the chain of possession.

Why demand the Audi dealer do anything? As I understand it, the car was stolen from a body shop. (Unless of course it was the dealer's own body shi\op - the OP doesn't say where it was stolen from or where he is located just that the car was found in Anchorage, Alaska. Sketchy info).

Default What's the ending

So whatever happened at the end? I'm in a same boat and need to know how things ended. Did you settle with Audi? What did they give you if you can share. Any advice?
