Default Thermostat for cylinder head

Help needed!

My A6 has this fault "Thermostat for cylinder head - open circuit" fault code P199E from Ross tech diagnosis machine but I can't find the code on Ross tech wiki. I've replaced the thermostat along with some other stuff along the way but still no luck.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

I have the same problem, i replaced the entire oil filter housing and nothing changed.

I already made also a topic for this, you can follow up there, maybe we will find the answer.

What engine do you have? Year? Mileage? Location?

Hi mate, sorry for the delay. I've been out of the country just got back this morning. I've attached a few pictures of the part that resolved the issue for me. I had numerous parts changed relating to the thermostat with no luck. My VCDS had given me the same fault as yours which nobody seemed to know a fix for. I gave up and went to a main dealer where they diagnosed this and replaced it for £200. Hope this gets you sorted aswell
