Default thinking of changing my chrome badges - ideas?

I have a white A6, and I'm thinking of changing the chrome badges on the rear of the car (rings, A6, 3.0T). I have the black optics package, so these chrome badges don't fit the rest of the car. Most people change to black, but that's more drastic than what I want. I'm thinking something more like medium grey. Any other color recommendations? Pictures?

Medium Grey would work but personally I would go with the black ones...

I just blacked mine out using Plasti Dip. The texture came out a little rough, but it looks great. I wonder how it will hold up in the long run.

Looks great. That's better than I thought it would look.

I did my wife's Q7 badges a month ago. Blue car with black badges. I like it. I was worried it would be too much contrast on a white car.

Did you use Plasti Dip? It's really cool how the Plast Dip peels off. I remember reading someone saying it feels really rewarding peeling it off, and it does lol. It made me want to Plasti Dip other stuff.

I also have black optics so the black looks right. I think grey wouldn't show up as much.

How were you able to peel the plasti dip inside the rings? I feel like peeling that part would peel the plasti dip off the rings as well. Im thinking of doing this but just hesitate because of the rings. Do you have any pictures with the plasti dip?

I was worried about that as well, but it was actually really easy. You just take a toothpick, and pick at one of the corners. The Pasti Dip comes up, and you can pull it away easily. Just pull slowly. The Plasti Dip cures well around the emblems, and forms a perfect line. It's really cool to see because you think it would be jagged or have imperfect edges, but it coats the emblems perfectly.

I watched a few videos as well. Key takeaways were do lots of coats. I did 6 of the black, and 3 of the clear. I waited 20 mins between coats. When you do the coats hit the spray areas from different angles. The spray area should be 1-2 inches outside of the emblems so that you can pull the Plasti Dip off. One thing I messed up on is to warm the spray can in warm water or store the can in warm temperature before spraying. I kept thinking it needed to stay cool, but the spray comes out finer if the can is warm. That is why I got some texture, along with not spraying it properly.

I masked off the entire back of my car. Here is a picture after I pulled all the masking away. Again, spray area should be outside of the emblems. I did get some over spray that wiped away easily with a microfiber cloth. Good luck!

Awesome! Thank you for the detailed response! Im going to give this a shot next week!

I am not seeing any pictures for some reason. I believe you posted a picture earlier as well but it will not pop up. Might be because of the my work PC but I'll check it out when I get home!

I cannot see any of the pictures posted by Speedooooo. I drive a white A6 but I want to see how the plasti dip turned out to be.
